  17. Airports featured:

  19. 1.  Greater Rockford Airport (RFD) located south of Rockford with ILS to
  20.     runway 1 (formally runway 36) at frequency 109.3 and ATIS at 126.7.         
  21.     Rockford VOR is 110.8.
  22.  
  23. 2.  Cottonwood Airport located in Rockford on the west side.  Cottonwood   
  24.     is a private airport with a grass strip, but I gave it a hard surface
  25.     runway and taxi-ways.  The taxi-ways are only visible at night.

  27. 3.  Janesville/Rock County Airport (JVL) located north of Rockford between       
  28.     Beloit and Janesville, WI.  Janesville VOR is 113.4.

  30. Other features:

  32.     Major shopping malls, Metro Center, News Tower, Faust Landmark Building,
  33.     sum of the larger buildings downtown, East High School, Rock River,
  34.     Pierce Lake at Rock Cut State Park north of Rockford, and most of the
  35.     major streets of the area.  There are two blimps (one south of the
  36.     Rockford Airport).  My house and garage is in Loves Park east of The
  37.     Rock River.  Radio and T.V. towers.  There is a Learjet and an F-14
  38.     Tomcat flying in and out of the Rockford Airport.  A Boeing 767 will
  39.     fly into the Rockford Airport.  Also, a Cessna 310 is flying in and out
  40.     of Cottonwood Airport.  Try following one.  Also, try following I-90
  41.     east to Chicago.  Using the Default Scenery, you can see the yellow
  42.     glow of Chicago from Rockford and Night!

  44. I started with scenery disk #9, then used a large wall map of Rockford to help
  45. lay-out the roads for this scenery enhancement.  I'm sure it is not completely
  46. accurate, but most of it is close.  I did make one bridge crossing the river a
  47. suspension type bridge, but it is a standard bridge in real life.

  49. I used Mallard's Scenery Enhancement Editor (SEE4) to colorize the data for
  50. time-of-day shading.  Be sure to check-it out at DAWN/DUSK AND NIGHT!  I used
  51. SEE4 to add the ATIS and some signs and runway skid marks.  Also, included are
  52. some MODE files for The Greater Rockford Airport and Cottonwood.

  54. Changes made from V1.01:
  55.     1. Changed all runway numbers at Greater Rockford Airport +10 deg.
  56.     2. Added 1500 feet to the south end of runway 7 (formally runway 6)
  57.     3. Removed the four timing gates from south-west of Rockford
  58.
